Welcome to Small Business Billionaire, a blog about my journey to prosperity as a small business owner.  My name is Sean and no, I’m not a billionaire…yet.   I started my current business in 2006 and have seen a lot of ups and downs along the way.  Trying to grow a start-up business through the worst recession in my lifetime was  a challenge.  But I’ve made it through and hopefully can share some of my experiences with you right here.  The theme around here is prosperity.  I’m on the road to it and I want to share as much as I can about my path with you.

Why “Small Business Billionaire”? I like the title because it’s an oxymoron.  A small business person will likely never become a billionaire and a billionaire will never be a small business person.  You can’t make a billion dollars owning a barber shop or the corner market.  You make a billion dollars by opening up Home Depots all over the country.  Although I wouldn’t say no to a billion dollars, I am and always will be a small business person.  My life is much more meaningful as a small business person.  I can choose to have a direct impact on people’s lives as a small business owner.  I have no shareholders to optimize revenues for.  It’s only me.

On SBB, I’ll be reviewing products that I’ve used or are currently using in my business.  Along with small business topics I’ll write about my real estate project – an 800 square foot retail store and right next door, a single family home that I turned into a duplex.  I’ll also write about my journey as a newbie blogger and share some of my favorite blogs.  Lastly I’ll touch on a topic that seems very strange for a small business owner – retirement.  Retirement is a new thought in my head as I’ve been trying to build my company since inception.  I’m finally at a point where I can invest my profit into other areas and I’m looking forward to learning about new kinds of investments.

So come on in and kick back.  I hope this helps you in some way on your path to becoming a Small Business Billionaire!  Please leave a comment to let me know how I’m doing.  Also feel free to contact me through the form below.
